Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 29, 2026
Last Updated: August 29, 2026

Bloodstone Ministries, Inc., a California nonprofit corporation doing business as The Potter’s House (“The Potter’s House,” “the Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects the privacy of those who visit our website, attend our services and events, interact with us electronically, give to the Church, or otherwise communicate with us.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect, how we use and disclose that information, the choices available to you, and our practices concerning photography, audio and video recording, livestreaming, prayer requests, telephone and text communications, social media, third-party services, and other Church activities.

This Privacy Policy applies to phocfm.com and to personal information collected or controlled by Bloodstone Ministries, Inc. in connection with Church activities.

It does not govern independently operated websites, platforms, security systems, or services that the Church does not control.

1. Information We May Collect

Information You Provide to Us

Depending on how you interact with the Church, we may receive information such as:

  • Your name;
  • Email address;
  • Telephone number;
  • Mailing address;
  • Information contained in communications you send to us;
  • Event, ministry, or program registration information;
  • Prayer requests;
  • Ministry-related information you voluntarily provide;
  • Donation information, including your name, contact information, contribution amount, date, designation, and related transaction information; and
  • Other information you voluntarily provide to us.

Sensitive and Confidential Information

Ordinary email, text messaging, social media, website forms, and similar electronic communications should not be considered secure or confidential methods of communication.

Do not use those methods to send sensitive or confidential information such as:

  • Social Security numbers;
  • Passwords or authentication credentials;
  • Bank-account or payment-card credentials;
  • Medical records or detailed medical information;
  • Confidential counseling information;
  • Detailed family, financial, or legal matters; or
  • Other information that you would not want disclosed if an electronic communication were intercepted, misdirected, accessed, or stored by a third-party service provider.

If you need to communicate a confidential pastoral, counseling, family, health, financial, or other sensitive matter, please contact Church leadership directly and arrange an appropriate method of communication.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, our website technology, hosting provider, security services, analytics services, or other supporting technology may automatically process limited technical information such as:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address;
  • Browser type and version;
  • Device and operating-system information;
  • Date and time of access;
  • Pages requested or viewed;
  • Referring website or page;
  • General diagnostic, security, analytics, and server-log information; and
  • Cookies or similar technical identifiers used for website operation, security, analytics, or related functionality.

We may use this information to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, protect, and understand the general use of the website.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information for purposes including:

  • Operating and maintaining the Church website;
  • Responding to questions and requests;
  • Communicating about Church services, ministries, events, and activities;
  • Processing registrations and ministry requests;
  • Administering contributions;
  • Maintaining legally required financial, accounting, and donation records;
  • Providing contribution acknowledgments or receipts;
  • Supporting pastoral, ministry, and administrative activities;
  • Providing telephone and text-based communications;
  • Maintaining the safety and security of our systems and services;
  • Preventing fraud, misuse, or security incidents;
  • Complying with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations;
  • Establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights;
  • Documenting Church services and events; and
  • Conducting the photography, recording, livestreaming, publication, and ministry communications described in this Policy.

We will not intentionally use personal information in a manner materially inconsistent with this Policy without providing appropriate notice or obtaining consent when required by applicable law.

3. Online Giving

The Church makes online giving available through a third-party service.

When you choose to give online, information necessary to process your contribution may be collected directly by the Church’s giving platform, payment processor, financial institution, or related service provider.

Those providers may collect financial information, such as payment-card or bank-account information, that is not collected directly through phocfm.com.

The Church may receive and retain information related to your contribution, including:

  • Your identity;
  • Contact information;
  • Contribution amount;
  • Transaction date;
  • Fund or designation;
  • Transaction status; and
  • Other information reasonably necessary for donation administration, accounting, tax reporting, recordkeeping, and contribution acknowledgments.

Service providers involved in online giving may process information on behalf of the Church as necessary to provide their services. Their own privacy notices and contractual terms may also apply to their processing activities.

4. Telephone and Text Messaging

The Church uses third-party telecommunications services, including Twilio, to support telephone and text-message communications.

When you call, text, or otherwise communicate with a Church telephone number, telecommunications providers, carriers, aggregators, and related service providers may process information necessary to transmit, deliver, administer, or support those communications.

Depending on the service used, this information may include:

  • Your telephone number;
  • The Church telephone number contacted;
  • Date and time information;
  • Message-routing and delivery information;
  • Text-message content;
  • Voicemail or other content you intentionally provide; and
  • Technical information necessary to operate the telecommunications service.

SMS and Mobile Information

The Church does not sell, rent, or transfer mobile telephone information or text-message opt-in information for third-party or affiliate marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile telephone information and text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared or transferred to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

We may disclose mobile and messaging information to telecommunications providers, carriers, aggregators, platform providers, and other service providers only as reasonably necessary to provide, transmit, administer, secure, or support Church messaging services or as otherwise required by law.

Consent to receive text messages from the Church is not transferable to another organization.

Email and Text Messages Are Not Secure

Ordinary email and SMS/text messaging should not be considered secure or confidential methods of communication.

Messages may pass through third-party networks and service providers and may be stored on personal devices, servers, backups, telecommunications systems, or other infrastructure outside the Church’s direct control.

Do not use email or text messaging to send sensitive, confidential, or highly personal information to the Church.

If you need to discuss a confidential pastoral, counseling, health, family, financial, legal, or other sensitive matter, please communicate directly with Church leadership and arrange an appropriate confidential method of communication.

5. Cookies, Website Technology, Analytics, and Tracking

The Church website may use cookies, server logs, scripts, or similar technologies that are necessary or reasonably useful for website operation, administration, security, diagnostics, performance, analytics, or functionality.

These technologies may be provided by WordPress, website-hosting services, Google, security or performance services, or other technology providers used to operate or support the website.

Information processed through these technologies may include:

  • IP address;
  • Browser and device information;
  • Date and time of access;
  • Pages requested or viewed;
  • Referring website or page; and
  • Technical, diagnostic, or analytics information.

The website currently includes Google tag technology (gtag.js). When this technology is loaded, a visitor’s browser may communicate directly with Google and may provide information such as IP address, browser and device information, date and time information, requested page or referring information, and other technical information ordinarily transmitted when accessing an Internet service.

Google tag technology may also use cookies or similar identifiers depending on its configuration.

The Google tag presently identified on the website references a legacy Universal Analytics property. Google has discontinued processing new data for standard Universal Analytics properties. The Church may remove, replace, or reconfigure this technology as its website is maintained.

The Church does not intentionally sell personal information.

The Church does not intentionally use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

The Church website may contain links to independently operated third-party services, including social-media, video, and online-giving services.

Following a link to or interacting with a third-party service may cause that service to collect information or place cookies or similar technologies on your device according to its own privacy practices.

The Church may periodically add, remove, or change website technologies.

If we implement new analytics, embedded services, advertising technologies, or other tracking technologies that materially change our privacy practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any additional notice or choices required by applicable law.

6. Service Providers

The Church uses service providers to perform functions on its behalf.

These may include providers of:

  • Website hosting;
  • Website administration and security;
  • Telecommunications;
  • Email or communications;
  • Online giving;
  • Payment processing;
  • Accounting or administrative services;
  • Livestreaming and video hosting;
  • Data storage; and
  • Other technology or ministry-support services.

Examples may include services such as Twilio, ChurchTrac, Vimeo, and Google.

These service providers may process information reasonably necessary to provide services to or on behalf of the Church.

Their processing may also be governed by their contractual obligations, their own privacy notices, and applicable law.

The Church seeks to use service providers appropriate to the nature of the services and information involved. Use of a service provider does not eliminate the Church’s own obligations concerning information that remains under the Church’s control.

7. Independent Third-Party Websites and Social Media

Our website may contain links to or references to independently operated websites, social-media services, or other online platforms, including services such as:

  • Facebook;
  • Instagram;
  • Vimeo;
  • ChurchTrac;
  • Mapping services; and
  • Other third-party websites or platforms.

When you leave phocfm.com or independently interact with a third-party website or service, that third party’s privacy practices, technologies, terms, and account settings apply.

The Church does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party websites or services that operate independently from the Church.

Information you post publicly on social media, including comments, photographs, videos, tags, mentions, or messages posted in public areas, may be visible to the Church and to other users of the applicable platform.

Do not submit confidential or sensitive information through public social-media features.

8. Photography, Audio and Video Recording, Livestreaming, and Media

Church worship services, conferences, concerts, outreaches, fellowships, special events, and other Church-sponsored activities may be photographed, audio recorded, video recorded, livestreamed, broadcast or rebroadcast, archived, or otherwise documented.

Photographs, recordings, and other media may appear on:

  • The Church website;
  • Livestreaming platforms;
  • Church-controlled social-media accounts;
  • Printed Church materials;
  • Ministry communications;
  • Historical archives; or
  • Other Church-controlled media used to communicate Church worship, teaching, ministry, activities, and events.

Public Services and Events

Church-operated cameras and microphones used during public worship services or Church events may incidentally capture congregation members, visitors, volunteers, guests, or others.

This may include:

  • A person’s image or likeness;
  • A person’s voice;
  • Congregational singing;
  • Spoken responses;
  • Testimonies or statements made publicly;
  • Applause or other audience sounds; and
  • Other activity occurring as part of a public service or event.

The Church may provide notice of photography, recording, or livestreaming through signs, announcements, event notices, registration materials, online notices, or other reasonable means.

If you do not wish to appear in Church-controlled photography or video, please notify an usher, event organizer, or Church representative before the service or event.

When reasonably practicable, we will attempt to help you locate an area less likely to be captured by Church-operated cameras.

Because photography and video may include wide views of congregations, audiences, or other public gatherings, we cannot guarantee that incidental background capture can always be prevented.

Featured Individuals, Interviews, Testimonials, and Promotional Uses

Different considerations apply when an individual is deliberately featured rather than appearing incidentally as part of a congregation, audience, group, or background.

When applicable law requires consent, the Church will obtain it.

The Church may also obtain a written media release or other authorization when an individual is deliberately featured in interviews, testimonials, promotional photography or video, advertising, fundraising communications, featured ministry content, portrait photography, or similar materials.

Speakers, performers, testimony participants, interview subjects, ministry participants, or others whose voices, likenesses, or personal stories are deliberately featured may be asked to provide separate authorization.

This Privacy Policy provides general notice of Church media practices. It does not replace a separate consent or release when one is legally required or otherwise appropriate.

9. Building and Third-Party Security Cameras

The Potter’s House operates from leased space within a multi-tenant building.

The building owner, property manager, landlord, or other persons may operate security cameras, microphones, surveillance equipment, or other security systems in or around the property.

Such systems may capture video and audio.

The Church does not own, operate, administer, or control independently operated building security systems and cannot control:

  • Where cameras or microphones are located;
  • What those systems capture;
  • When they operate;
  • How recordings are stored;
  • How long recordings are retained;
  • Who has access to recordings; or
  • How the system operator uses or discloses recordings.

Other tenants or occupants of the building may also operate their own cameras, microphones, or security systems. Those systems are likewise outside the Church’s control.

This Privacy Policy does not describe, authorize, endorse, or make representations regarding the privacy practices or legal compliance of independently operated surveillance systems.

This disclosure is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute authorization, approval, or a representation by the Church regarding the legality of any independently operated recording or surveillance system.

Questions or concerns regarding building security cameras or third-party surveillance should be directed to the person or organization operating the applicable system.

If the Church separately obtains a copy of a recording from another party and maintains that copy in its own records, the Church will handle that copy according to its own applicable privacy, security, confidentiality, and legal obligations.

10. Private and Confidential Communications

Church-operated recording and livestreaming systems are intended to record public services, events, performances, teaching, worship, and other public ministry activities.

They are not intended to be used to record confidential pastoral counseling or other private communications.

Church personnel should take reasonable steps to avoid intentionally capturing confidential conversations with Church-operated recording equipment.

The Church does not intend to record private counseling sessions, private ministry or care conversations, restrooms, changing areas, or other circumstances in which a person reasonably expects privacy, except with appropriate consent or other lawful authority.

Because the Church occupies a multi-tenant building containing independently operated surveillance equipment, the Church cannot guarantee that areas outside its control are free from third-party audio or video recording.

11. Prayer Requests

Prayer is an important part of the ministry of The Potter’s House.

Prayer requests submitted for congregational prayer may be read aloud during a Church service.

Because Church services may be livestreamed, recorded, archived, or posted online, a prayer request read during a service may also be broadcast live, recorded, heard by people outside the physical congregation, archived online, replayed later, or shared through Church-controlled or third-party media platforms.

Public Prayer Requests

Prayer requests submitted through ordinary congregational prayer-request channels should be considered public prayer requests.

Do not include anything in a public prayer request that you do not want publicly disclosed.

This includes sensitive information about yourself or another person, such as:

  • Detailed medical information;
  • Diagnoses;
  • Family disputes;
  • Financial problems;
  • Legal matters;
  • Counseling information;
  • Personal identifiers;
  • Employment matters;
  • Information about children; or
  • Other confidential, private, or highly personal information.

The Church may read, summarize, paraphrase, redact, edit, omit, or decline to read any prayer request.

Submission of a prayer request does not obligate the Church to publish, announce, or broadcast it.

Information About Other People

Please exercise particular care before submitting information about another person.

Do not include another person’s sensitive or private information in a public prayer request unless you have an appropriate basis and permission to disclose that information publicly.

The fact that someone has asked you personally to pray for a matter does not necessarily mean that person has authorized public disclosure during a livestreamed or recorded Church service.

Confidential Prayer or Pastoral Matters

If a prayer request or pastoral matter should remain private, do not submit the sensitive details through an ordinary public prayer-request channel, email, text message, or social-media message.

Instead, communicate directly with Church leadership and clearly state that the matter is confidential.

Church leadership can then determine an appropriate method for receiving or discussing the information privately.

Email and text messaging should never be assumed to be secure or confidential channels for sensitive prayer, counseling, health, family, financial, legal, or other personal information.

12. Requests Concerning Published Media

If an identifiable photograph, video, audio recording, or other Church-controlled media involving you has been published and you have a privacy concern, you may contact us using the information below.

We will consider reasonable requests to remove media, edit media, discontinue future Church-controlled use, or otherwise address a legitimate privacy concern.

We will honor requests when required by applicable law.

Removal may not always be technically or practically possible after material has been livestreamed, distributed, downloaded, reposted, shared by others, archived, cached, or published through a third-party platform.

The Church cannot control copies independently retained, reposted, or distributed by third parties.

This section applies to Church-controlled media and does not give the Church the ability to remove, edit, or control recordings created or maintained by a landlord, building operator, another tenant, an attendee, social-media user, or other independent third party.

13. Children and Minors

The Church provides ministries and activities for children and families.

The public Church website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to solicit personal information directly from children under 13 without parental or guardian involvement.

Children under 13 should not independently provide personal information through the Church website, text messaging, email, or social-media channels without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

If we become aware that a child has submitted personal information in circumstances where parental or guardian involvement is appropriate, we may delete the information, contact the parent or guardian, obtain appropriate authorization, or take other reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances.

Photographs and Recordings of Minors

Children may sometimes appear incidentally in photographs or recordings of public Church services or events as part of a congregation, audience, group, performance, or background.

The Church will exercise additional care when a minor is individually identified or deliberately featured.

When applicable law requires parental or guardian consent, the Church will obtain it.

As a general Church practice, the Church may obtain authorization from a parent or legal guardian before deliberately featuring an identifiable minor in promotional photography, interviews, testimonials, advertising, fundraising materials, featured videos, individual portraits, or similar Church media.

The Church should not publicly disclose a child’s sensitive personal information merely because the child participates in a Church ministry, service, event, photograph, or recording.

Parents or legal guardians who have concerns regarding identifiable Church-controlled images, recordings, or information involving their child may contact the Church.

14. Sensitive Ministry and Pastoral Information

Interactions with a church may involve information people reasonably consider private or sensitive, including information concerning religious participation, family circumstances, health concerns, counseling matters, financial hardship, personal ministry needs, or other private circumstances.

We seek to limit access to nonpublic ministry and pastoral information to people who reasonably need the information for the purpose for which it was provided, subject to applicable law and appropriate Church practices.

Public prayer requests and statements voluntarily made during public services should not be considered confidential.

Private pastoral information communicated directly and confidentially to Church leadership will be treated differently from information intentionally submitted for public prayer, publication, testimony, announcement, or broadcast.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to waive or diminish any clergy-penitent privilege, pastoral confidentiality protection, evidentiary privilege, legal right, or other protection that may apply under applicable law.

15. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to persons or organizations reasonably necessary to conduct Church operations, including:

  • Pastors;
  • Church officers;
  • Staff;
  • Volunteers or ministry leaders who reasonably need the information;
  • Website-hosting and technology service providers;
  • Telecommunications providers;
  • Email and communications providers;
  • Donation and payment-processing providers;
  • Accounting and administrative providers;
  • Livestreaming and video platforms;
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, attorneys, insurers, or consultants; and
  • Other service providers acting on behalf of the Church.

We may also disclose information:

  • At your direction or with your consent;
  • When reasonably necessary to administer Church operations;
  • When disclosure is required by applicable law or valid legal process;
  • When reasonably necessary to protect the safety, legal rights, or property of the Church or another person; or
  • In other circumstances permitted by applicable law and consistent with applicable confidentiality duties, privileges, and legal protections.

Where confidential pastoral, counseling, or ministry information is involved, the Church will consider applicable privileges, confidentiality obligations, and other legal protections before disclosure.

Nothing in this section is intended to authorize disclosure of confidential ministry information merely because disclosure might otherwise be legally permissible.

16. Sale of Personal Information and Marketing

The Church does not sell personal information.

The Church does not rent personal information to marketers.

The Church does not knowingly disclose personal information to third parties for their own cross-context behavioral advertising.

Mobile telephone information and text-message opt-in information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

The Church may disclose information to service providers performing legitimate services on its behalf as described in this Privacy Policy.

17. Data Retention

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable legal and tax requirements, accounting and audit requirements, security considerations, ministry and administrative needs, insurance considerations, historical or archival value, and other legitimate Church purposes.

For example, contribution and financial records may need to be retained for tax, accounting, audit, governance, insurance, or legal purposes.

Sermons, livestreams, photographs, recordings, and other media documenting Church worship, history, teaching, or significant events may be retained for historical or archival purposes.

Information may be deleted, destroyed, anonymized, archived, or retained when appropriate under these considerations and applicable law.

18. Information Security

The Church uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information it maintains.

Those safeguards may include measures intended to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.

No website, computer system, email service, text-message service, telecommunications network, electronic transmission, storage system, or third-party platform can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Never send sensitive or confidential information to the Church using ordinary email, SMS/text messaging, public social media, or other unsecured electronic communications.

If sensitive information needs to be communicated, contact Church leadership directly to arrange a more appropriate method.

If a security incident involving personal information occurs, the Church will investigate and provide notifications when required by applicable law.

19. Privacy Requests and Choices

You may contact the Church if you would like to ask about personal information maintained by the Church, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of information where appropriate, ask that optional communications be discontinued, or raise another privacy concern.

We will consider reasonable requests and respond as required by applicable law.

We may be unable to fulfill a request when information must reasonably be retained for legal or regulatory obligations, tax or financial recordkeeping, accounting or audit requirements, Church governance, security, insurance, ministry administration, historical or archival purposes, protection of another person’s rights, or other legitimate purposes.

We may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of anyone making a privacy request before providing, changing, or deleting information.

Certain comprehensive consumer privacy laws may not apply to nonprofit religious organizations such as Bloodstone Ministries, Inc. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to voluntarily subject the Church to a law that does not otherwise apply.

20. Browser Privacy Signals

Some browsers provide “Do Not Track,” Global Privacy Control, or similar privacy signals.

Our website may not respond to all such signals.

The Church does not intentionally sell personal information or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Where applicable law requires the Church to recognize a legally enforceable browser-based privacy preference signal for a particular activity, the Church will respond as required by that law.

Independent third-party websites and services may respond differently to browser privacy signals according to their own practices.

21. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to websites and services that are not operated by the Church.

Once you leave the Church website, the privacy practices, terms, technologies, and policies of the third-party website or service apply.

We encourage you to review the privacy notices of third-party services you choose to use.

22. Visitors Outside the United States

Bloodstone Ministries, Inc. is located in California, United States.

Information provided to the Church may be processed or stored in the United States.

23. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy when our practices, technologies, services, or legal obligations change.

When we make material changes, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on our website and update the Last Updated date above.

When required by applicable law or appropriate under the circumstances, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
